How We Work

MRSU is a democratic and charitable organisation that works independently from Mont Rose College to represent you and support you, the students. Inside MRSU you will find a course representative who are elected by Mont Rose College students to represent them.

We aim to cater for every student, and have set up a vast range of campaigns, volunteering projects, activities & social events for you to get involved in. We would like all student to have a voice, got a great idea for an event? Let us know!

Our activities team is here to enhance your experience here at MRC, whether it is being a member of a sports club or an academic society, putting on an event in one of our campuses (Churchill House) or volunteering in various projects across the year, we’ve got you covered.

Your Union!

“We represent you”

Your student union is run by students, having full-time representatives elected by students, to represent and voice your needs. As well as a number of staff to help direct how the SU is organised, supported by a team who oversee the operational aspects of the SU. Each new year these positions are opened up for elections. Where any current student can vote and run as a candidate, ensuring that you have a choice of who runs your union and of its directions.

We also hold a democratic forum to ensure that you can voice any issues you have and have your say on how the organisation is shaped through policies and motions. If you feel the SU or the representatives aren’t doing what they should be, we have a number of forums on which you can hold them to account. Either with the student representatives meeting or our independent student advisors. It is these meetings that you as a student can bring real change within your SU.
